With spring comes the time to spring clean and make new. I think this is important in Business as well.
For myself, I feel it is important to return to the grassroots of your business and then work on what needs to be done from there.
I think it is most important to start with your ‘why’. Why are you in business? The TED Talk by Simon Sinek, “Starting with Why” is good to revisit. If you haven’t seen this classic TED Talk video, watch it here.
From my experience, successful business people are always strong in their ‘Why’ and they articulate it. When people are aligned with their Why, I’ve found that their profits and money flow. When they are not aligned with their Why, misalignment happens.
Your Why needs to flow through the whole business. It needs to be understood by your staff and incorporated into your marketing. It needs to be a constant reminder to you and your staff as to why you are doing what you are doing.
My challenge for you this month is to review your “Why” while spring cleaning your business. Review all levels of your business and see if your Why is actually coming through. Now is a good time of the year for change so if something is not resonating with your Why, then make a change to be more aligned. And watch the profits flow!
