Starting a new business can be quite exciting, however there are many aspects that need to be addressed in the early stages if you want to get off to the best start. But this all takes money – and you don’t have a lot of extra dollars when you are starting out.
Fortunately, the Queensland Government has stepped in to assist new small businesses with the Small Business Entrepreneur Grants Program.
The Grants can enable small businesses to access professional advice and support in the early stages of establishing a business. A few of the important aspects include getting the right advice from your Accountant, making a business plan and having a budget.
Matched funding of up to $5,000 (excluding GST) to engage an advisor to help establish or develop the business.
The advice must fall under one or more of the following areas:
- Professional business, tax, computing, legal or financial (accounting) advice
- Business and strategic planning
- Market research and marketing strategies
As part of this advice, the advisor will assist you in developing a business action plan for the next twelve months to support and improve the business.
Who Can Apply?
The Grants program is available to all new and recently established Queensland-based small businesses.
