The ATO business portal is a secure website for managing your business tax preparation and affairs with the ATO online.
You can use the Business Portal to:
o complete your BAS online with the possibility of gaining an extra two weeks to lodge and pay
o view your business tax account details
o transfer funds between your Tax Office Accounts
o check the status of your enquiries
o view and update your business registration details
o communicate with the Tax Office using secure portal mail
o request private rulings and make objections to assessments
o access online tools and the ATO tax calculator
o view payment options
It is important to note that the Australian Tax Office will stop issuing paper statements if the previous statement was lodged electronically. Therefore, if your Tax Agent lodges a Business Activity Statement electronically on your behalf, you will no longer receive the paper statements. This means you will need to continue lodging your BAS electronically, which can be done through the ATO Business Portal.
