This morning I had the pleasure of attending the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network breakfast to hear Tania Hubbard (Gluten Free Grain Free) and Vicki Taylor (Red Hot Chilli Pepper) speak about their experience with Collaboration in Business for the 21st Century.
These two successful business women collaborated last year to create a Gluten Free Grain Free Christmas cake.
The interesting factor in their presentation was the honesty shown between business parties when collaborating and ensuring they each have a win-win mindset. You need to leave your ego at the door to ensure that the aim of the deal is that your customers win.
How many times in business whether it is with clients, staff or other businesses, do I see people operating from a place of “What’s in it for me?” If there was a change of mindset to “how can others benefit and I benefit in return” it could create a whole different business community.
