Now that the dust has settled on the recent transfer of our Accountancy requirements to MJJ and your efficient completion of our year end Accounts, we feel it is entirely appropriate to express our appreciation of the support and guidance you and your friendly team have given us on both business and personal financial levels. We had enjoyed a good relationship with our previous Accountants over many years and whilst there is no doubting their standing in the Australian and International financial community we did not feel we were getting the personal service we were really looking for and that over time we had just become a number on a chart. When considering the possibility of making a move to MJJ there was an element of uncertainty and perhaps a small feeling of disloyalty especially as we had come to know members of the previous firm on a personal basis. With these reservations, we spent a number of months researching and meeting with Accountancy firms on the Sunshine Coast. The decision was not easy as there are a number of capable firms with outstanding qualities.
During our introductory meeting with MJJ it was clearly evident a quick understanding of our online domestic and international business had been gained with a number of constructive meaningful suggestions put forward. Coupled with the clarity of an article written by Melanie on Self Managed Super Funds for a Business Magazine which was extremely relevant to us we could not fail to be impressed and we did not hesitate any longer in making the transfer.
Our early discussions with Renee centred around the creation of a ‘Business Plan’. In the past, this is something we and no doubt many other small business owners carry around in our heads – there is always something else which needs doing! We had not really appreciated the importance and relevance of getting specific goals and objectives down on paper which could then be used as an ongoing working document and constant reminder of what we are aiming for. A number of important topics are now being actioned which had been allowed to drift in the past.
Renee has already saved us considerable sums of money from small amounts on insurance cover to a reorganisation of our SMSF where the personal tax benefit has been substantial. It has been so refreshing to meet somebody in this industry who is proactive and not merely reactionary.
