A new platform has been introduced which enables businesses to register shorter domain names that are easier to remember. This newly introduced category of domain name is available to anyone with a verified connection in Australia, meaning it is not limited to commercial entities with an ABN or ACN.
From the begging of 2022 Australians have been given the ability to register more memorable .au domain names. The new option for Australian internet users assists those who want to create and manage their online presence. New .au domain names can be registered via any participating .au accredited registrar in accordance with the .au Licensing Rules.
If you would like to register the .au direct match of your existing domain name, there is a priority application up until 20 September 2022. If you do not complete this application by the due date, the direct match of the domain name will be available for registration by the general public.
Find out more about how you can register and what is involved by following the auDA website.
